THWARTING THE PLANS OF THE SMUGGLERS, THE BORDER SECURITY FORCE SEIZED BANGLADESHI CURRENCY

Troops of Border Security Force under South Bengal Frontier seized Bangladeshi Taka.
The incident took place on 17th August 2022 at around 2030 hrs in the area of Border Out Post Angrail, 158 Battalion Sector Kolkata.
The jawans on duty noticed that the smugglers had thrown something over the Border fencing toward Bangladesh. At the same time, the troops on duty chased the smugglers, but the smugglers managed to escape by taking advantage of the darkness and thick bushes. After that, the jawans conducted a thorough search of the area, then 01 packets were recovered there, out of which 3,00,000 Bangladeshi taka was recovered.
The recovered Bangladeshi Taka is being handed over to Police Station Gaighata for further legal action.
Sh. H. S. Tomar Commanding Officer, 158 Battalion stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to check to smuggle along the Indo-Bangladesh Border. Due to this, people involved in activities like smuggling are experiencing a lot of difficulties and some of them are being apprehended, and are also being punished according to the law.
