
Botanical Survey of India organized the Herbarium methodology and Plant Nomenclature workshop at MIDNAPORE CITY COLLEGE, West Midnapore district of West Bengal on 26-27 September 2022. During the workshop, participants were informed about the history of plant exploration in India, Collections of plants in the wild, Herbarium preparations, and Plant nomenclature by BSI experts. Dr. Pradip Ghosh, founder, and Director of Midnapore City College, expressed his gratitude to the Botanical Survey of India for organizing a workshop at the institution. Dr. Anulina Manna, local coordinator of the workshop said, the level and content of the workshop with hands-on-practical work was very informative and definitely help participants as well faculty members to understand the plant taxonomy.
The participants and faculty members shared their views after the completion of the workshop. Dr. Gopal Krishna, Dr. Sudheer Kumar Yadav, and Dr. Anant Kumar from the Botanical Survey of India were attended the workshop as subject experts. On this occasion, Dr. Kuntal Ghosh, Dr. Soumitra Pal, Mr. Kamalendu De, and other faculty members of Midnapore City College were present.
