A Seminar On “Investment Opportunities In Thailand” Was Organised by The India-Thai Chamber Of Commerce.
18 January 2023 Kolkata: The India-Thai Chamber of Commerce has non-profit status and is recognized by both the Thai and Indian governments. The ITCC offers advice to its members while they are deciding whether to make business or trade investments in Thailand. It encompasses business as well as social and cultural concerns. In accordance with this, the India-Thai Chamber of Commerce organized a conference on “Investment Opportunities In Thailand” in collaboration with the Thailand Board of Investment at the Hotel Hindustan International in Kolkata.
The seminar’s purpose was to educate the attendees about business opportunities for Indian enterprises in the targeted industry, business advantages in Thailand, and government assistance programmes and incentives. There have been about 50 attendees. The event’s prominent guests were Mr. Nanthapol Sudbanthad, director and consul of the Thailand Board of Investment’s office in India, Mr. Rajeev Goenka, president of the Indo-Thai Chamber of Commerce in West Bengal, and Mr. Rohit Surana, chief secretary of JITO and executive member of the MCCI. They discuss the benefits that people are receiving from doing business in Thailand followed by a round of question and answer sessions.
During the session, Mr. Nanthapol Sudbanthad said about why Thailand is the right destination for Indian investors trying to expand to Southeast Asia, and what are the business opportunities and tax and non-tax incentives to qualify. He stated “India & Thailand is not only a close neighborhood but rich with historical culture and heritage similarities. Thailand is not only a leisure holiday destination but offers immense business opportunities in various sectors. Thailand welcomes Indian Investors to explore and set foot for the ASEAN market and beyond.” Also, Rajeev Goenka stated “ This is the First seminar being organized by India-Thai Chamber of commerce, West Bengal chapter on investment opportunities in Thailand. The basic objective of this Chamber is to explore & promote trade & commerce between the two countries. Thailand is known for its hospitality & tourism, and also is a popular destination for events & weddings. Lot of Indian companies have already set up their factories & offices in Thailand & many more are planning to do so.”
The seminar was a success because as helped attendees comprehend what Thailand has to offer foreign businesses in the sector of interest and why it is positioned for growth in these sectors.
