Rabindra Jayanti celebrated in Dubai, is organized by Bharatiya Bangiya Parishad and The Consulate General of India
Rabindra Jayanti was held in U.A.E as a joint initiative of the Bharatiya Bangiya Parishad and The Consulate General of India. Under the supervision of the President of the Bangiya Parishad Mr. Madhusudan Dutta Chowdhury, the Cultural Committee of the Parishad presented a beautiful evening. The event was divided into three phases. The programme started with a lamp dance.
Then the presentation was the geeti-alekhya “Gaaner Opare” based on the use of Tagore’s songs in the films. It was conceived and scripted by Esha Sengupta. It was directed by the noted singer of Dubai, Somdatta Basu. After this, it was the Rabindra dance drama-based presentation “Bhora Thak Smriti Sudhaay” was performed. Chitrangada, Shyama, and Chandalika’s three iconic characters how the was experiences love, rejection, and union in their life were the key elements of this presentation.
The part was conceived and scripted by Esha Sengupta. On the other hand, Somdatta Mukherjee, a disciple of renowned dancer Tanushree Shankar, directed the part. The event concluded with the play “Dena Paona”. The script of this play was written by Chaitali Tiwari and the play was directed by Shri Subhatosh Banerjee. This event was part of the Government of India’s “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
On behalf of the organization, Esha Sengupta said, “After our vigorous rehearsals, an interesting program was held. We hope that everyone liked our performance. It seemed to be the same again and again during the program that Rabindranath is global.”
