
137TH DRUCC MEETING HELD AT SEALDAH DIVISION

The 137th Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (DRUCC) meeting was organized by Eastern Railway’s Sealdah Divison at the Divisional Headquarters on 07.06.2023. Altogether ten (10) DRUCC Members attended the meeting. Shri Dipak Nigam, Divisional Railway Manager/Sealdah & Chairman of DRUCC and Smt. Anjan, Sr. DCM/Sealdah welcomed the DRUCC members. In the meeting, ADRM and other branch officers were also present.
During the meeting, several important issues related to the improvement of passenger amenities such as station cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene were discussed. The DRUCC members expressed their concerns about the problem faced by the senior citizens to board EMU trains due to the huge rush of passengers over Sealdah Division, they also requested for introduction of additional EMU trains over some sections of Sealdah Division and the construction of FOB and underpass at different locations over this division. Announcement issues regarding the arrival of trains and safety-related issues were also discussed in the meeting.
DRM/Saeldah along with the officers listened to all the concerns raised by the DRUCC members and updated them about the improvements that took place over Sealdah division for the welfare of the passengers and ensured them that their issues will be taken up and any set back on part of the railways regarding the issues would be taken into consideration and necessary steps would be taken to resolve them at the earliest if found feasible and adhering to Railway Board’s guidelines. They also discussed the upcoming plans for improving passenger amenities and requested the DRUCC members to provide feedback on the same. The members were also requested to extend their helpful hand in removing the encroachments.
The meeting proved beneficial for both Railways and DRUCC Members, as it allowed for the constructive exchange of views and feedback regarding the needs and requirements of the railway users as well as for addressing the issues related to the improvement of passenger amenities at railway stations.
