IIT Bhubaneswar organizes a series of activities to mark National Sports Day
Bhubaneswar, 25th August 2023:
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar is joining the Nation in celebrating National Sports Day and has planned to host a series of sports activities ahead of the occasion. The Institute is organizing a week-long Inter-Year Tournament among all its members, from 22nd August to 27th August.
National Sports Day is celebrated every year on 29th August, the birthday of Hockey Legend Major Dhyan Chand, to commemorate India’s deep-rooted tradition of sports. The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Sports as an enabler for an inclusive and fit society’. IIT Bhubaneswar, as part of its Inter-Year Tournament, is organizing various sports competitions like Badminton, Basketball, Chess, Futsal, Long Distance Run, Plank Challenge, Volleyball, etc. The closing ceremony of the Tournament will be held on 28th August during which Major Dhyan Chand Trophy will be awarded to the winners.
