• A few persons injured

Kolkata, December 13, 2023:

At about 12:08 hrs. today a portion of the side wall of the water tank placed above the Platform No. 2 & 3 of Barddhaman station broke and fell down on the platform. Few persons got injured in this incident. Immediately, train movement was suspended through lines 1, 2 & 3 of Barddhaman as a safety measure. Railway officials & rescue team rushed to the site. Accident Relief Medical Van arrived at the site at 12:25 hrs. to continue rescue operations. Injured persons were shifted to the Barddhaman Medical College Hospital for medical treatment. Divisional Railway Manager, Howrah rushed to the site.

The line No. 1 of Barddhaman was given fit for train movement at 12:55 hrs. Train services through Barddhaman station are being maintained now via PF No. 1 & 4.
