
SHRI AMAR PRAKASH DWIVEDI, GENERAL MANAGER, OF EASTERN RAILWAY, OPENED THE RENOVATED REGIONAL RAIL MUSEUM AT HOWRAH

The Regional Rail Museum at Howrah which upholds the historical development of Railways in Eastern India is now in a completely new look. Shri Amar Prakash Dwivedi, General Manager, Eastern Railway inaugurated the renovated Regional Rail Museum at Howrah on 25.12.2023. Smt. Dipti Dwivedi, President, of Eastern Railway Women’s Welfare Organization (ERWWO), and Shri Sumit Sarkar, Additional General Manager/ Eastern Railway were also present on the occasion.
A new Rail Coach Restaurant at the Regional Rail Museum at Howrah has been provided with a heritage look. Visitors to the Regional Rail Museum can avail palatable dishes at this Rail Coach Restaurant at affordable prices. The signages have been renewed, and the lighting arrangement at Howrah Rail Museum has been revamped. The softly spread, eye-soothing lighting arrangement at the Regional Rail Museum will now make exhibits more photogenic. The artifact gallery has also been renovated. The amphitheater in the Regional Rail Museum also underwent a thorough renovation and is ready for holding any cultural or public function. Apart from this it will fetch 26.50 lakh/annum to the Railway exchequer as NFR(non-fare revenue).
Shri Amar Prakash Dwivedi, General Manager, Eastern Railway, advised all concerned to uphold the rich heritage of Railways in this region so that the exhibits at the Regional Rail Museum are maintained consistently with their original glory to sing the saga of the gradual development of Railways.
