REGULATION OF TRAINS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF LIMITED-HEIGHT SUBWAY
Kolkata, December 28, 2023:
In a significant stride towards enhancing safety and convenience for local commuters, Eastern Railway is constructing a Limited Height Subway (LHS) in lieu of Level Crossing Gates No. 106 C/E (between Beldanga & Rejinagar stations). Local residents and commuters using these gates will experience increased convenience and reduced travel time, contributing to an improved quality of life. The LHS also significantly reduces the risk associated with Level crossing providing a safer passage for both pedestrians and vehicles.
This strategic initiative aims to eliminate train detentions, facilitating a smoother and more comfortable journey for passengers. By replacing Level Crossing Gates with Limited Height Subways, Eastern Railway aims to significantly reduce train detention times, ensuring timely arrivals and departures. The new infrastructure contributes to improved safety measures by eliminating the potential risks associated with level crossings, providing a secure environment for both train operations and road users. Accordingly, for the construction of the Limited Height Subway on the Krishnanagar – Lalgola section, 10 hours (from 09:50 hrs. to 19:50 hrs.) Traffic & Power Block has been planned UP and Down both lines at Level Crossing Gate No. 106 C/E. Consequently, the following arrangements for train running have been made on 30.12.2023 (Saturday):-
CANCELLATION OF TRAINS (on 30.12.2023) :
(1) UP 03183 Sealdah-Lalgola Passenger/Down 03190 Lalgola-Sealdah Passenger,
(2) UP 03193 Kolkata-Lalgola MEMU /Down 03194 Lalgola-Kolkata MEMU.
SHORT TERMINATION & ORIGINATION OF TRAINS (on 30.12.2023) :
(1) 03115 Up Sealdah-Lalgola MEMU will be short terminated at Bethuadahari instead of Lalgola & 03196 Dn Lalgola-Sealdah MEMU will be short originated from Bethuadahari instead of Lalgola.
(2) 31773, 31769 & 31771 Up Ranaghat-Lalgola EMU Locals will be short-terminated at Plassey instead of Lalgola, and 31768, 31770 & 31774 Dn Lalgola-Ranaghat EMU Locals will be short originated from Plassey instead of Lalgola.
(3) 31861 Up Krishnanagar City Jn-Lalgola EMU Local will be short-terminated at Plassey instead of Lalgola and 31864 Dn Lalgola-Krishnanagar City Jn EMU Local will be short originated from Plassey instead of Lalgola.
RESCHEDULING OF TRAINS (on 30.12.2023):
(1) 13114 Dn Hazar Duari Express will be re-scheduled for 1 hour 30 minutes, i.e. will leave from Lalgola at 18.20 hrs. instead of 16.50 hrs.
(2) 03192 Dn Lalgola-Sealdah Passenger will be short originated from Krishnapur instead of Lalgola and will be re-scheduled for 04 hours i.e. will leave from Krishnapur at 18.50 hrs. instead of 14.50 hrs.
(3) 03198 Dn Lalgola-Sealdah MEMU will be re-scheduled for 30 minutes, i.e. will leave from Lalgola at 19.05 hrs. instead of 18.35 hrs.
The inconvenience to be caused to the passengers is deeply regretted.
However, three pairs of special trains will run between Lalgola & Beldanga on 30.12.2023. In the Down direction, the special train will leave Lalgola at 09:25 hrs., 12:20 hrs. & 14:45 hrs to reach Beldanga at 10:50 hrs., 13:30 hrs. & 16:00 hrs. respectively and in the UP direction the special train will leave Beldanga at 11:10 hrs, and 14:50 hrs. & 16:35 hrs. to reach Lalgola at 12:40 hrs, 16:20 hrs. & 18:10 hrs respectively.
