Eastern Railway, Sealdah Division successfully concluded its “Inter-departmental women’s cricket DRM CUP” on February 7, 2025.
The tournament, which began on January 29, 2025, saw the participation of 13 teams from various departments within the division.
The final match was played between the “Railway Protection Force (RPF)” and “Electric General” department . After a closely contested match, the RPF team emerged victorious, showcasing their exceptional cricketing skills and teamwork.
The Inter-departmental women’s cricket DRM CUP was organized under the leadership of Shri Abhay Kumar, Divisional Sports Officer, Sealdah and under the guidance of Shri Deepak Nigam, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Sealdah. The event was a testament to the Sealdah Division’s commitment to promoting women’s empowerment and encouraging its women employees to participate in sports and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Shri Deepak Nigam congratulated all the participating teams and lauded the women employees for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship. He emphasized the importance of such events in promoting women’s empowerment and fostering a sense of fellowship among the employees.
The Inter-departmental women’s cricket DRM CUP was a resounding success, with a large number of employees in attendance to cheer for their respective teams. The event served as a platform to showcase the talent of the women employees and to promote the spirit of sportsmanship.
Sealdah Division plans to organize more such events in the future to encourage its employees to participate in sports and other extracurricular activities.
