Grammy jury Prodyut Mukherjee remembers Ustad Zakir Hussain on the occasion of 211 Foundation day of the Indian Museum.

A grand musical tribute to the tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain was paid by the Grammy jury & GiMA awardee percussionist   Prodyut Mukherjee on the occasion of  the 211th Foundation Day celebrations ⁸of  the Indian Museum, Kolkata, at Asutosh Birth Centenary Auditorium.  “Resonating Rhythms” – a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Ustad Zakir Hussain by the incredible Prodyut Mukherjee, Grammy Jury & GiMA Award-winning maestro, who captivated the audience with his soul-stirring performance.The event celebrated the timeless legacy of rhythm, tradition, and cultural heritage.

The evening kicked off with the  inaugural Lamp Lighting  ceremony by Shri. A. D. Choudhury, Director, Indian Museum, Prof. Swapan Kr. Pramanik, Vice-Chairman, Board of Trustees, Indian Museum, Shri. Sayan Bhattacharya, Deputy Director, Indian Museum, Dr. Dhriti Banerjee, Director, Zoological Survey of India, Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee, Grammy Jury & GIMA Award winner.

Prodyut Mukherjee performed his own GiMA award winning composition ‘ Within You’, followed by mouth percussion, effects of two passing by trains on the Tabla and so on. Younger flutist performed the Krishna  Theme.At the end of the event musicians performed Vande Mataram. Prodyut Mukherjee said; “It’s a privilege indeed that I could perform on such a historical day.”
