Today, The Women’s Group of Hemophilia Society- Durgapur Chapter celebrated International Women’s Day 2025, to honour the women for their incredible contributions and dedication towards the society at our own premises.
The following dignitaries graced the program . 1) Dr. Ananya Mukherjee, Dy. CMOH, Paschim Bardhaman, Govt. Of West Bengal 2) Miss Sushmita Nath, Counsellor, NHM of NRS Hospital, Kolkata, Govt. Of West Bengal 3) Dr. Ipsita Nag, Sr. Consultant, Blood Bank & Transfusion medicine, The Mission Hospital, Durgapur 4) Shri Biswajit Ghosh, WBCS( Exe), Dy. SDM ,Durgapur . Dr. Ananya Mukherjee said, “This day is not just a celebration. It is our responsibility and duty to break down barriers of discrimination and create a world where every woman has the freedom to live freely and live safely.
Smt. Sushmita Nath, a Beta Thalassemia Major patient and a born fighter, working as a counselor in the Hematology Department of NRS Medical College and Hospital, was very happy and grateful to the Durgapur Chapter for this honor . She shared her own fight and straggle and also congratulated all the hemophiliac mothers and carrier women for their daily struggles, sufferings and encouraged them to live
always a positive and constructive life.
She emphasised for the education to all the girls. When we educate a girl, we empower a family.
Dr. Ipsita Nag said that it is our responsibility to create a society where women have equal opportunities , respect and values . She congratulated both women and men on this International Day because gender equality is our common goal.
Shri Biswajit Ghosh told that International Women’s Day is not just a day of appreciation, it is a reminder that the fight for equal rights must continue every day. Smt. Kalyani Bhandari, Convenor, Women’s Group thanked to all the guests and women’s member of Durgapur Chapter and told that we all should
take pledge to support, uplift, and empower the women around us—not just today, but every day.
