Celebrating Antara Foundation Day & Mental Health Awareness Campaign
Kolkata, September 15, 2024 – Antara Society proudly celebrates its Foundation Day, marking over four decades of dedicated service in the field of mental health care and rehabilitation. This special event also includes a Mental Health Awareness Campaign to shed light on the challenges faced by individuals affected by mental illness, addiction, and alcoholism.
The event will be graced by Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner; Molly Thambi, Psychologist, Stress Management Specialist, Deputy Director of Lifeline Foundation, and Joint Secretary at Antara Psychiatric Hospital & Swami Suparnanda Maharaj, hon. secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Golpark.
Founded in the 1970s in response to the social upheaval in Kolkata, Antara was born out of a compassionate vision to provide mental health care to the destitute and impoverished. Co-founded by visionaries including Mother Teresa and Dr. Satrujit DasGupta, Antara has grown into a comprehensive institution with Antaragram at its heart, offering outpatient and residential care, vocational training, and rehabilitation services.
