Centre for Narendra Modi Studies, Bharat urges Bangladesh to Protect Hindus After Temple Attacks

New Delhi October 13, 2024 : The Centre for Narendra Modi Studies (CNMS), New Delhi, Bharat has expressed deep concern over the recent attacks on Hindu temples in Bangladesh. A Puja mandap in Tantibazar, Dhaka was attacked, and there was a theft at the Jeshoreshwari Kali temple in Satkhira. These incidents come amid a pattern of violence targeting Hindu places of worship.

In a strong statement, Prof. Jasim Mohammad,  Chairman Centre for Narendra Modi Studies said, “These repeated attacks are unacceptable and show a serious failure to protect the Hindu community in Bangladesh. We demand that the government take immediate action to ensure the safety of Hindus and all minorities during this important festival period.”

The CNMS called on Bangladesh to uphold its responsibility to safeguard religious minorities and prevent further acts of desecration. “The protection of minorities is a basic duty of any government. It is necessary that these acts of violence are stopped immediately and those responsible are brought to justice,” he added.

The CNMS also urged the international community to pay attention to this issue and support efforts to protect religious freedom in Bangladesh.
