Maj Gen Vivek Tyagi, ADG West Bengal & Sikkim Directorate visits The Bhawanipur Education Society College to Celebrate the NCC Day with students, cadets and staff.
Kolkata, 20.11.2024 – The Bhawanipur Education Society College hosted a momentous event and Additional Director General NCC West Bengal & Sikkim Directorate, Maj Gen Vivek Tyagi, visited the institution to celebrate the 76th NCC Day, today. This premier institution retains its focus on holistic development and grooming of future leaders while pursuing academic excellence. With about 10,000 students, the college boasts of enrolment of students in Army, Air and Naval wing of West Bengal & Sikkim NCC Directorate. The NCC cadets from the college have been very active across spectrum of NCC activities and represented NCC Directorate at apex level with many making it into Armed forces as also in other fields.
- Maj Gen Vivek Tyagi, ADG inspected the NCC Day celebration and addressed cadets, emphasizing NCC’s pivotal role in shaping youth and nation-building.
- Felicitated outstanding cadets with awards and also rank ceremony, encouraging excellence.
- Interacted with students, sharing valuable insights on NCC’s future plans and opportunities.
- A weapon display show organised during the event motivated many young minds and better acquainted them with the Indian Army.
- The various student collectives presented high energy and vibrant cultural programs while giving insight into focus of the institution towards encouraging entrepreneurship, innovation and performing arts. ADG interacted with each of these collectives and complimented them on the excellent concept, standards.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a premier youth organization fostering discipline, patriotism, and leadership among Indian students. Origin of NCC can be traced back to the initial University Cadet Corps raised in Kolkata and today the West Bengal & Sikkim NCC Directorate has more than One Lakh cadets while further expansion is under way. The NCC Day celebrations will continue towards main event on
24 November wherein we our cadets and staff re dedicate ourselves to NCC ideals of always placing The Nation First.
