MORE METRO SERVICES IN PURPLE LINE FROM 01.12.2025 (MONDAY)
SERVICE HOURS TO BE EXTENDED FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE SUBURBAN PASSENGERS

Good news for Metro commuters! More Metro services are going to be operated in Purple Line on weekdays from tomorrow. Service hours of Purple Line are also going to be extended on weekdays which will benefit suburban passengers availing local train services of Eastern Railway from Majerhat station.
From tomorrow i.e. on 01.12.2025 (Monday), 84 services (42 UP and 42 DN) will be operated daily in Purple Line from Monday to Friday instead of 80 services (40 UP and 40 DN).
First Service:
At 06.40 hrs from Joka to Majerhat (instead of 06.50 hrs.).
At 07.03 hrs from Majerhat to Joka (instead of 07.14 hrs.).
Last Service:
At 21.05 hrs from Joka to Majerhat (instead of 20.36 hrs.).
At 21.26 hrs from Majerhat to Joka (instead of 20.57 hrs.).
With this increase of Metro services and extension of service hours, passengers of Sealdah-Budge Budge Line of Eastern Railway will be immensely benefited specially during morning and late evening hours.
It is to be noted that Purple Line services on Saturdays have been introduced from 22.11.2025. On Saturdays, 40 services (20 UP and 20 DN) are being operated in this Line. There will be no services available in this Line on Sundays.
