A sudden parking brake issue affected Metro Service

To the sudden surprise of all commuters, the Kolkata Metro came to a standstill when the 35-minute as metro facility stopped due to a technical issue in the Netaji Kudghaat station downline, metro time 7:15 pm to 7:50 pm, Maidan Station to Shahid Khudiram. All metros were cancelled because in Netaji Kudghat station was facing a technical glitch in the metro.
Metro authority informed that while a DN Metro train was in motion after Mahanayak Uttam Kumar station towards Netaji, suddenly the parking brake got applied on its own. This is an in-built safety system in the Metro rake. As this incident occurred on the DN line en route after Mahanayak Uttam Kumar Metro station and before Netaji station, the technical staff had to walk down to identify the cause by taking the power block for safety. After this sudden unscheduled inspection and rectification, normalcy was restored at 08.05 pm. Inconvenience caused is regretted.
Further, to add that services between Dakshineswar to Mahanayak Uttam Kumar on DN line and Shahid Khudiram to Dakshineswar on UP line remained unaffected.
But passengers complained of non-supportive station administration, even none were there during the crisis, which the metro administration must take care of for better customer service during emergency
