B.R. Singh Hospital Nurses Create History with Mega Blood Donation Drive to Honor International Nurses Day
KOLKATA | May 10, 2026 —
In a powerful tribute to the timeless legacy of Florence Nightingale, nursing staff of B.R. Singh Hospital (BRSH) organized a highly successful Voluntary Blood Donation Camp at Hospital Auditorium on May 9, 2026.
The drive was inspired by the 2026 global theme, "Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives." This theme emphasizes the critical need to support nursing professionals with safe working conditions and necessary resources to maximize their life-saving impact. By stepping beyond their clinical duties to donate blood, the nursing staff embodied the very essence of this empowerment.
The atmosphere at the auditorium was charged for that noble cause. The process adhered to strict medical protocols, beginning with mandatory health screenings and haemoglobin tests for every volunteer.
Blood donation is more than a medical procedure; it is the "Gift of Life." Every drop donated represents a second chance for a patient in need, a beacon of hope for a family in crisis, and a selfless act of humanity that transcends all boundaries.
