LIC CSR Initiative Brings Relief to Hemophilia Community in Durgapur

DURGAPUR, West Bengal: The Hemophilia Society – Durgapur Chapter has received a significant boost to its patient-care facilities with the donation and installation of two air conditioners by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Asansol Division, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The new facilities are expected to create a more comfortable and patient-friendly environment for people living with hemophilia and their families who visit the Society for medical consultations, physiotherapy, training programmes and other activities.
The installation ceremony was attended by senior officials of LIC, including Vivekananda Ghosh, Senior Divisional Manager (I/C), LIC of India, Asansol Division; M. M. Nazir Hossain, Marketing Manager, LIC of India, Asansol Divisional Office; Ravi Shankar, Manager, Sales, LIC of India, Asansol Divisional Office; and Shivshankar Mukherjee, Senior Branch Manager, LIC of India, Durgapur.
During the programme, the LIC officials appreciated the work being carried out by the Hemophilia Society – Durgapur Chapter for the welfare and support of persons living with hemophilia.
The LIC representatives also expressed their willingness to extend continued cooperation for initiatives aimed at improving the well-being and quality of life of members of the hemophilia community.
The Society expressed its gratitude to LIC of India, Asansol Division, for extending support through its CSR programme and contributing to the improvement of facilities available to patients and their families.
Ajoy Roy, Secretary of the Hemophilia Society – Durgapur Chapter, said the initiative reflects the importance of collective efforts in supporting people living with hemophilia.
“Together, we can make a better tomorrow for every person living with hemophilia,” Roy said.
The CSR initiative highlights how institutional support and community-based organisations can work together to create more supportive and dignified spaces for patients and their families.
