Kolkata, 6 April 2022: Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) has organized a conference on Urbanization & Environment Care in the presence of the Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Shri Firhad Hakim; Minister of State for Department of Finance, Health & Family Welfare Dept. & Land and Land Reforms Department, W.B Govt, Smt. Chandrima Bhattacharya along with the President, the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Pradeep Sureka, and Chairman of ICC National Expert Committee on Real Estate, Mr.Nakul Himatsingka at the Hyatt Regency on Wednesday. Along with EV the state government is focused on CNG to attain sustainable environment goals. Shri Firhad Hakim, Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation mentioned in the Press Conference, “Electric vehicle is our future which will lead to a safe and sustainable environment and that is the main focus of the State government currently. Also, given the rise in petrol-diesel prices, we must shift our focus to biofuel than fossil fuel. This would lead to a carbon emission-free environment without being a hindrance to urbanization. We are also focused on taking E-Governance to its zenith.”

Minister of State for Department of Finance, Health & Family Welfare Dept. & Land and Land Reforms Department, W.B Govt, Smt. Chandrima Bhattacharya said, “Governance for growth has always been our main motto. We could proudly say that investors are coming to Bengal due to this reason and on the other hand West Bengal holds 14% of the MSME segment in India.”

Mr. Pradeep Sureka, President of the Indian Chamber of Commerce, said, “We are extremely delighted to host the Hon’ble Mayor, Shri Firhad Hakim, and Smt. Chandrima Bhattacharya for honouring us with their presence. We are also hopeful of receiving support from both of them in our focus area as always.”
