Sherpa Thinle Lhondup, also known as Thinley or Thinlen, is a popular Nepalese Himalayan actor. He is best known for his memorable acting in Himalaya, a 1999 adventure film directed by Éric Valli, a French film director. Thinle appears in some music videos in Nepal as well. He died on April 24, 2016, after falling off his horse at Phoksundo village. He had been battling with cancer which required him to travel between Dolpa and Kathmandu for treatment .
Caravan (Himalaya) was an adventure film released in 1999 directed by French national Éric Valli. The Oscar-nominated film depicts villagers who carry rock salt from the high plateau down to the lowlands in a caravan of yaks to trade for grain across the mountain.
He had also appeared in Nepathya’s one of the music videos that was released in 2003.
Nepathya’s frontman, Amrit Gurung remembered the deceased actor in his tweet as:
