OMG 22 ‘fake’ universities are actively functioning in this country, UP with a maximum of 9 and second spot is Delhi with 5,During RS session government told the Rajya Sabha and also advised states to initiate action against these Fake Education establishments.
Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani also said Ministry of External Affairs also updated to seek a list of all fake universities abroad; so that students are not cheated
“As per information available with the UGC, there are 22 universities (in the country) which have been listed in the UGC list of fake universities and are functioning in contravention or violation of the UGC Act, 1956 in different parts of the country,” Ms Irani said.
Not only Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, there are two such cases in West Bengal and one each in Bihar, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Odisha, Ms Irani said.
