An Oxygen Cylinder blast inside the emergency ward of the Banaras Hindu University.
Approx 12 people & nursing staff injured in the blast.
President’s scheduled visit is next week.
All the injured people has been shifted to the trauma center of the hospital. The police have sealed the affected area for investigation.People who saw the incident, said that the false ceiling of the ward came crashing down and the windows torn apart from the explosion, which took place near the reception area at the Sir Sunderlal Hospital. Every one suspected Bomb Blast and terror attack,latter it found blast of an oxygen cylidner
According to reports, the hospital was full of patients when the loud sound created panic. Fire engines also immediately rushed to the hospital, however, there was no incident of a fire outbreak.
President Pranab Mukherjee’s scheduled visit to the university on May 12 and with this blast;Police Taking no chances, the police have started a probe. Hospital staff was being questioned to ascertain the reasons and to fix responsibility of the blast.
The Prime Minister has wished a speedy recovery to all those injured in BHU Hospital in Varanasi.
Medical superintendent OP Upadhyay told press that the operations at the emergency ward would be restored soon to resume operations and as of now the services have been temporarily shifted to another facility at the hospital.
