At a recent stipend distribution ceremony, organized by Paschim Bangiya Marwari Sammelan Shiksha Kosh, Governor of West Bengal Shri Keshari Nath Tripathi, who also inaugurated the proceedings, handed out the same conjointly with Subrata Mukherjee, Minister-in-Charge Panchayat &Rural Development and Public Health Engineering, Govt. Of West Bengal. In its 30th year the program enriched 1500 students from 111 schools and will surely encourage them further in their academics.
In turn the grant recipients were urged to make equivalent donation of their stipend- amounts that they received or more if possible when they have fully established themselves to complete the circle and keep it running and helping greater number of students.
Post the lamp ceremony, Brahmanand Agarwala, President of Shiksha Kosh delivered the welcome speech to an august gathering comprising Ashok Todi Industrialist and Social Worker; Sajjan Kumar Bansal Industrialist and Social Worker; Shyam Sundar Agarwal Industrialist and Social Worker and Mahendra Kumar Choudhury Industrialist and Social Worker. Krishna Kumar Lohia spoke on the details of the activities of Shiksha Kosh and Kishan Lal Bajaj gave the vote of thanks.
Since 1955, Shiksha Kosh, claims to have distributed stipends, to 12000 needy students. Besides they have variously helped with school-dress, syllabus-books, school-bags etc., have distributed more than 12000 dresses to less-fortunate in Sunderbans. They also aid those wanting to pursue engineering or medical courses but can’t due to financial constrains.
