The organizers of the Miss Teen USA pageant in a major change in the format announced on Wednesday that the pageant, which deals with competitors between the ages of 15 and 19, will scrap the swimsuit activity part of the competition. Instead it will be in favor of a more body-positive “athletic wear competition,” USA Today reported.
The pageant is reportedly turning towards a major focus on “health and wellness” over just hot bikini bodies, as reported. The change means that the 51 women in the contest of Miss Teen USA pageant on July 30 will be the first to model with athletic wear instead of hot swimsuits under the regulation just disclosed.
