This is one of a kind sent off organized by PM Modi for the contingent of Indian Athletes and sports man for Rio Olympic.

Every Olympic India sends a great team and they are always went just like that but this time a new tradition created by PMO and PM Modi. Officially they called all the team members to say Good Luck to all and encourage all to do the best for the country.

PM meets Athletes Contingent for Rio Olympics

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today met over 60 athletes who shall be part of India’s contingent at the Rio Olympic Games.

The Prime Minister met each athlete individually, besides interacting informally with the athletes. He encouraged the athletes to perform to the best of their ability in the world’s biggest sporting arena.

Several former Olympians including MC Mary Kom, Anju Bobby George and P. Gopichand were among those present at the gathering.

Over 100 Indian athletes from 13 different disciplines have qualified for the Rio Olympics.

The Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Jitendra Singh was also present on the occasion.
