Tradester, a Chennai-based start-up is offering a new and unique service where a customer can customize the entire design/style of a product, ranging from clothing to jewellery, through their website, Fashionous.in.
This start-up has partnered with a number of designers and boutiques to sell their products and services through their online store. The online store offers a good collection of customized fashion jewellery and apparel that can be customized according to the user’s tastes.
“Currently customization in products like t-shirts is limited to only adding print/embroidery. No company is currently offering customized styling options for these products and we are planning to fill that gap. For example, in a t-shirt, you can change the neckline (round neck, V-neck, Polo, etc), sleeve type (full-sleeves, half-sleeves, 3/4th, etc) and even request for additional customization. We are planning to add customized styling options for more products like shirts, shrugs, skirts, and so on in the coming months,” says Antony, Founder of Fashionous.in.
Products like Silk-thread jewellery and Terracotta jewellery seem to have a good demand currently.
Fashionous.in has now acquired 2,000 followers on Facebook and has an average of 1,000 visitors per day to its website in such a short span of time. Fashionous.in is also working on creating an aggregator platform of niche fashion designers and tailors in the city. Customers can avail services from the list of available designers and tailors in the platform.
“With everyone in the family working these days, people hardly have any time for visiting the good old tailor shops and get clothes custom-stitched. And readymade clothes from the branded retailers at the mall aren’t a perfect match either. That’s where we step in. From our website, you can choose tailors based on various factors like cost, execution time, ratings, etc and get a dress custom-stitched from the comfort of your home/office; no more frequent, exhausting visits to the local tailor in the neighbourhood,” says Antony.
