The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) will open five more dengue detection centres in the city in early September. This will take the total number of dengue detection centres in the city to 10.
The KMC is also considering a proposal to keep two centres open round the clock.
The civic authorities are likely to open five more dengue detection centres in near future. From January 1 to August 13, 290 people in the city have been afflicted with dengue, Ghosh said.
Massive Awareness Programme
- The KMC has formed Rapid Action Team in the borough and central levels.
- The health workers are going from house to house to launch anti-larvae drive.
- The KMC was keeping in constant touch with the state health department.
- KMC health department staff is visiting pathological laboratories and private nursing homes to know the names of patients who have been detected with dengue.
- People should not panic and contact KMC ward health offices if they are found to be suffering from fever.

ডেঙ্গু মোকাবিলায় শহরে আরও ৫টি অতিরিক্ত ডেঙ্গি রোগ নির্ণয় কেন্দ্র চালু করবে পুরসভা। সেপ্টেম্বরের শুরুতেই চালু হবে এগুলো। এর ফলে সব মিলিয়ে শহরে মোট ডেঙ্গি রোগ নির্ণয় কেন্দ্রের সংখ্যা হল ১০টি।
এছাড়াও দুটি কেন্দ্র সর্বক্ষণ খোলা রাখার একটি প্রস্তাবও দেওয়া হয় কলকাতা পৌরসংস্থার পক্ষ থেকে।
‘অদূর ভবিষ্যতে আরো পাঁচটি ডেঙ্গু সনাক্তকরণ কেন্দ্র খোলার সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। ১লা জানুয়ারি থেকে ১৩ আগস্ট পর্যন্ত রাজ্যে প্রায় ২৯০ জন ডেঙ্গুতে আক্রান্ত হয়েছে’, জানান অতীন ঘোষ।
ব্যাপক সচেতনতা কর্মসূচি
- কলকাতা পৌরসংস্থা বরো এবং কেন্দ্রীয় স্তরে র্যাপিড অ্যাকশন টিম গঠন করা হয়েছে।
- স্বাস্থ্য কর্মীরা বাড়ি বাড়ি গিয়ে অ্যাণ্টি লার্ভা ড্রাইভ কর্মসূচি চালাচ্ছে।
- কলকাতা পৌরসংস্থা রাজ্যের স্বাস্থ্য বিভাগের সঙ্গে নিয়মিত যোগাযোগ রাখছে।
- কলকাতা পৌরসংস্থা স্বাস্থ্য বিভাগের কর্মী আবেগপূর্ণ ল্যাবরেটরিজ এবং বেসরকারী নার্সিং হোম পরিদর্শন করা হয় রোগীদের যারা ডেঙ্গুতে সনাক্ত করা হয়েছে এর নাম জানতে.
- জনগণকে অযথা আতঙ্কিত হতে বারণ করা হয়েছে এবং যদি কেউ জ্বরে আক্রান্ত হন তাহলে তাদের তৎক্ষণাৎ কলকাতা পৌরসংস্থার স্বাস্থ্য অফিসের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করা উচিত।
