Kharif Crop Sowing Crosses 1054 Lakh Hectare Areas
The total sown area as on 09th September, 2016 as per reports received from States, stands at 1054.49lakh hectare as compared to 1012.35 lakh hectare at this time last year.
It is reported that rice has been sown/transplanted in 380.28 lakh ha, pulses in 143.95 lakh ha, coarse cereals in 187.86 lakh ha, oilseeds in 186.95 lakh ha, sugarcane in 45.77lakh hectare and cotton in 102.13 lakh ha.
