Bengal topper in vegetable production
Bengal is the number one State in the production of vegetables. The latest data shows that the State produces around 18 per cent of the total production of vegetables in the country, or 254,66,000 metric tonnes.
This production is done on 335 acres of area across the State, which comprises 16 per cent of the total area of production in India.
In terms of production, Bengal is followed by Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Under the Chief Ministership of Mamata Banerjee, Bengal has seen a massive improvement in agriculture. Various farmer-friendly schemes like Amar Foshol Amar Gola, Amar Foshol Amar Gari, etc. have helped the State to steal a march over many other States in many aspects of agricultural production.
Marginal farmers get a lot of benefits now, including Kisan Credit Cards and loans on easy terms. Self-Help Groups (SHGs) have helped a lot of women earn a livelihood and thus become self-sufficient.
Kisan Bazaars set up all over the State enable farmers to quickly carry the produce to designated markets to sell at Government-notified prices, without the involvement of any middlemen, as well as store in warehouses in proper conditions.
With so many schemes and incentives, it is not surprising that Bengal is among the top producers of not only vegetables, but also various grains, pulses and fruits, as well as flowers.
সবজি উ९পাদনে বাংলা এখন শীর্ষস্থানে
সবজি উৎপাদনে বাংলা এখন শীর্ষস্থানে রয়েছে। সর্বশেষ তথ্য অনুযায়ী, দেশে মোট সবজি উ९পাদনের প্রায় ১৮ শতাংশ অর্থা९ ২৫৪,৬৬,০০০ মেট্রিক টন উ९পাদন করে রাজ্য।
রাজ্যের প্রায় ৩৩৫ একর জমিতে এই উৎপাদন হয় যা সারা ভারতে উৎপাদনের মোট আয়তনের ১৬ শতাংশ।
উ९পাদনের নিরিখে বাংলার পরে উত্তর প্রদেশ ও বিহারের স্থান।
মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের নেতৃত্বে বাংলার কৃষিতে ব্যাপক উন্নতি দেখা দিয়েছে। বিভিন্ন কৃষি বান্ধব প্রকল্প যেমন আমার ফসল, আমার গোলা, আমার গাড়ি ইত্যাদি চালু হয়েছে যা রাজ্যকে কৃষি ক্ষেত্রে আরও উন্নতির পথে এগিয়ে নিয়ে গেছে।
কিষাণ ক্রেডিট কার্ডের মাধ্যমে কৃষকরা অনেক উপকৃত হয়েছে, এর মাধ্যমে তারা এখন সহজেই ঋণ পাচ্ছেন। স্ব-নির্ভর গোষ্ঠী এখন অনেক মহিলাদের জীবিকা উপার্জন করতে এবং তাদের স্বনিরভর হতে সাহায্য করেছে।
সারা রাজ্য জুড়ে তৈরি হয়েছে কৃষক বাজার। কৃষকরা যাতে খাদ্যশস্য গুদামজাত করতে পারে, সেই সঙ্গে সথিক দামে বাজারে তা বিক্রি করতে পারে সেইসকল ব্যবস্থাও করা হয়েছে রাজ্য সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে।
বাংলায় এখন অনেক প্রকল্প ও ইনসেনটিভ চালু হয়েছে তাই বাংলা এখন শুধুমাত্র সবজি নয়, বিভিন্ন শস্য, ডাল ও ফল, সেইসাথে ফুল উ९পাদনে প্রথম স্থান অর্জন করলেও তাতে বিস্ময়ের কিছুই নেই।
