Bengal CM to chair high level meet on Singur today
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee would hold a meeting in Nabanna from 3 PM on Monday and decide the date from when the process of giving “physical possession” of land to farmers can begin. She would take the decision after going through the report on the progress of work in Singur.
The state parliamentary affairs minister Partha Chatterjee would submit the report after his visit to the site on Sunday evening. He inspected the progress of the work and held meetings with ministers Tapan Dasgupta, Ashima Patra and local MLAs Rabindranath Bhattacharya and Bacharam Manna. Senior officials from the state secretariat and Hooghly district were also present in the meeting.
The state government has left no stone unturned to abide by the order of the Supreme Court Division Bench. Terming the acquisition of 997 acre of land for the Tata’s Nano car project in Singur unjustified, the Division Bench had directed the present state government on August 30 to return the land in cultivable form within 12 weeks.

রবিবার সিঙ্গুর গিয়ে এমনটাই জানালেন শিক্ষামন্ত্রী পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায়৷ আজই মুখ্যমন্ত্রী সিঙ্গুরের সামগ্রিক পরিস্থিতি নিয়ে প্রশাসনের আধিকারিকদের সঙ্গে বৈঠক করবেন৷ তার পরই প্রয়োজনীয় নির্দেশ দেবেন তিনি৷
সিঙ্গুরের জমি চাষযোগ্য করার কাজ কী অবস্থায় রয়েছে, তার বিস্তারিত রিপোর্ট নেবেন তিনি৷ প্রশাসনের আধিকারিকদের কাছ থেকে জানা গিয়েছে, মুখ্যমন্ত্রী চাইছেন দ্রুততার সঙ্গে কাজ করে জমি চাষযোগ্য অবস্থায় কৃষকদের হাতে তুলে দিতে৷
