Dum Dum Book Fair 2017 inaugurated by the eminent dramatist and Actor Shri Bartya Basu in presence of Dum Dum MP Professor Sougata Roy, Author Ms. Bani Basu, South Dum Dum Municipality Chairman Dr. Panchu Roy and others. This is the seventh successful year running with the help of Indira Social Welfare Organization of Dum Dum.
Books are friends for life and Bengali’s are proud to be called ‘Book Worm’. Kolkata is the cultural capital of India and Dum Dum has become the cultural hub for Kolkata.
Bartya Basu told the people that Books are going to stay forever but people will come and go. Sougata Roy explained why Book is the ultimate passion for all even today’s electronic world.
Bani Basu who herself is a name in the world of Bengali literature told that her relation with Dum Dum is from the very young stage of her professional career. She started as part time lecturer of Dum Dum Motijheel College Morning section when she started her teaching life.
On January 4th there will be a big show with Kabir Suman, Bartya Basu and other eminent personality for the book release.
