Bengal CM to inaugurate a bouquet of projects for north Bengal today
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has set out for her North Bengal tour on Saturday after attending the Bengal Global Business Summit. Thousands were present at Bagdogra Airport to welcome her.
On Sunday, she will inaugurate the sixth edition of Uttar Banga Utsav. The inaugural ceremony will be held in Kurseong. Every year, cultural programmes in which the traditional art forms including dance, songs and drama are performed. Artists from across the country perform in the Uttar Banga Utsav.
The CM will inaugurate the 100-bedded ESI Hospital at Siliguri, HDU at Kurseong sub-divisional hospital, SNCU at Darjeeling hospital, renovated blood bank at Siliguri District Hospital. The CM will also launch the tiger safari at Bengal Safari Park in north Bengal.
The CM will meet also representatives of different development boards which were formed for faster and better development of the region.
On Sunday evening, she will reach Darjeeling. Like all the previous years, she will be attending the programme of Netaji Jayanti at Mall in Darjeeling on January 23. Thousands of people will be gathering at the programme.
She will also be holding the administrative review meeting for the district on January 24 where she will take a stock of the progress of the development works undertaken by the state government. She will return to Kolkata on January 25.
