Master stroke by Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar made him the BJP CM of Goa; in a late evening development on Sunday, Governor Mridula Sinha of Goa set Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar who is the leader of Bharatiya Janata legislative party as Chief Minister of Goa.

In a Raj Bhavan communication released late on Sunday said that Mr. Parrikar got support of 21 MLA as evidence before governor support includes 13 MLAs of Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP), 3 MLAs of MGP, 3 MLAs of Goa Forward and 2 independent MLAs, thus having a total strength of 21 MLAs for majority in the House of 40.

The Governor has asked CM to prove his majority on the floor of the House in a legislative assembly session within 15 days of administration of oath of office and secrecy.
