Centre must waive farmer loans across the country and not pass the buck to States: Mamata Banerjee
Bengal Chief Minister today demanded that the Centre waive farmer loans across the country and not pass the buck to the States.
The CM said that the current farmer distress is the result of demonetisation.
The Chief Minister tweeted that the ruling party at Centre must honour the commitment it had made.
Her statement on Twitter in English:
“Government of India must waive farmer loans throughout the country. When the farmers are agitating, Government of India cannot be silent. This farmer distress is the effect of demonetisation. An assurance was given by the ruling party and now they must fulfil their commitment without trying to pass the buck to the States.”

“भारत सरकार को पूरे देश में किसानो का कर्ज़ा माफ़ करना पड़ेगा। किसान जब आंदोलन कर रहे हैं तब सरकार खामोश नहीं रह सकती I किसानो के इस संकट का कारण हैं नोटबंदी। सत्ताधारी दल अपने वादों को निभाएँ और राज्यों पर अपने ज़िम्मेदारियों को ना थोपें।”

কৃষকদের প্রতি কেন্দ্রের অবহেলার মনোভাবের বিরুদ্ধে আজ তোপ দাগলেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তিনি টুইটারে লেখেন, কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের অবিলম্বে দেশজুড়ে কৃষকদের ঋণ মুকুব করে দেওয়া উচিত।
তিনি লেখেন, “যখন কৃষকরা আন্দোলন করছে, কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার চুপ থাকতে পারে না। আজ কৃষকদের এই দুরবস্থার জন্য দায়ী কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের হঠকারী নোটবাতিলের সিদ্ধান্ত।”
রাজ্যের ঘাড়ে দায়িত্ব চাপিয়ে না দিয়ে কেন্দ্রে শাসকদলের উচিত নিজেদের প্রতিশ্রুতি পালন করা, লেখেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।
