Reliance Foundation and Jio reaches out to flood-ravaged Assam with an elaborate relief package
As Assam struggles to deal with large-scale loss of life and property caused by the worst floods to hit the state in decades, Reliance Foundation through Jio in Assam, has come forward to help the people of Assam. Jio has reached out to several far-flung areas in Assam that are the worst-affected in the region.
Rekiance Jio has focussed its relief efforts in areas such as Bilasipura, Dhubri, Gosaigaon, Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar in Lower Assam, Majuli in Upper Assam, Kaliabor, Lakhimpur, Dehmaji, and Nagaon in Central Assam, and hopes to directly help 10,000 families. Reliance Foundation is supported by Jio in its relief efforts, with Jio employees directly participating in various activities to provide assistance to those affected.
Jio is supplying essential items such as food and water, medicines, biscuits and baby food, to take care of immediate necessities. According to the latest reports, last week was the third wave of floods in the state and have collectively impacted over 2 million people across 21 districts.
