State Govt inks MoU with UK body for skill development of healthcare professionals
For skill development of healthcare professionals employed with the Bengal Government, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the State Government’s Institute of Health and Family Welfare and the United Kingdom’s Department of Health’s Health Education England.
According to a communiqué, the initiative to sign the agreement was taken to ‘strengthen the collaborative relationship to support skill development of healthcare professionals in Bengal and the UK’, after ‘recognising the common healthcare challenges the two countries face and as well as the value of learning in a global context’.
The MoU will ensure sharing of expertise on education and training of healthcare professionals, including review, and upgradation, wherever required, of existing educational programmes, and development of new ones.
According to Health Department officials, the agreement will facilitate acquiring of best practices in healthcare education and practices by doctors of Bengal. in fact, it will be beneficial for both as it will be a continuous process of knowledge sharing.
