Nolen gurer payesh by State Govt and Mother Dairy

This winter sweet-lovers are in for a real treat. The Bengal Government and Mother Dairy (now owned by the State Government) are together creating a branded nolen gurer payesh that is, rice pudding with nolen gur flavouring, an eternal favourite among Bengalis.

The rich payesh would be made with gobindobhog rice, cashews, raisins and cardamom; and instead of sugar there would be nolen gur, which is available only during the winter months.

The venture would also manufacture normal payesh, made with sugar. Nolen gurer payesh would be priced at Rs 25 per cup, and the sugar payesh at Rs 20.
