XAT 2019: Complete Details of Selection Procedure

Selection Process for XAT 2019

Exactly 11 Xavier Association of Management Institutes member colleges accept the XAT 2019 scores. There are different criteria for their admissions in XLRI and other colleges. Appearing for XAT
As all of the candidates are well versed with the exam pattern. When the papers are getting evaluated, there are overall cutoffs and section wise cutoffs as well. As we know XAT is one of the toughest exams, it has an undefined syllabus. Students have to prepare from the previous year question papers. Upholding the standards of a XAT, the 2019 exam was as tough as previous years. However, the one major change that exam pattern had was the absence of the essay writing section. The break-up of the different sections, as well as the syllabus, was similar to previous years.
XAT Scores & Cutoff

On the announcement of the actual percentiles, the institutes participating in the counselling will release their individual cutoffs and hence the students will be shortlisted. Students must not lay back after the exam, they should look up and know about the participating colleges and research on their previous cut-offs.
Selection Round 1- Group Discussion
Nowadays, it has been observed that the Group Discussions are being replaced by the other ability tests that institutions take. However, some of the MBA colleges continue to conduct Group Discussions to analyze their candidates. One must do their research before showing up for the GD. Different colleges have their own different ways of carrying out the GD. Also, the student must remember this is a crucial step to impress the recruiters.
Selection Round 2- Personal Interview
Following the GD, the students have to face one of the most delicate zones of the entire selection procedure. Based on the most relevant and trending topic, a board consisting of esteemed faculties, members of the board, and even some alumni carry out a structured interview of the candidate.
One of the main things to keep in mind before appearing in the interview is not to be over-prepare. As this causes the candidate to have stress attacks, and they can turn out to be under confident.
In most cases, it has been observed that the candidates have to face a stress interview which is conducted by the interviewers. The candidates need to be prepared for this kind of interviews as these type of interviews are specifically designed to grill them in every possible manner.
