HCCB Siliguri Factory wins the prestigious FAME Excellence Award
Awarded Platinum Awards, a testimony to company’s global best industry practices
Kolkata, July 11, 2019: Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) Pvt Ltd – one of India’s top 5 FMCG Companies – was awarded the prestigious Foundation for Accelerated Mass Empowerment (FAME) Excellence Awards for the carried out in its Siliguri Factory, in two categories – (1) Safety Excellence and (2) Energy Efficiency.
Among other things the award is a huge testimony to the several green and clean energy initiatives undertaken by the factory such as CNG, which is 40% lower. In particular, the FAME award for Environment Protection recognises the exemplary contributions made by the HCCB Factory in the area of water management, energy management, effluent treatment and community development. Among other things the improvement work entailed building and enhancing capability of workmen to be responsible and cognizant towards the environment. HCCB’s commitment to enable all round development of communities as part of the HCCB Model Village Program. Core focus areas for these communities include access to drinking water, sustainable agriculture, sanitation, healthcare, primary education, environment management initiatives and development of various infrastructural facilities.
Speaking on the occasion, Dinesh Jadhav, Executive Director, Supply Chain, HCCB Pvt Ltd, said, “It feels good to see that our work on building green factories, is being acknowledged. Equipped with various state-of-the-art technologies have been deployed at the Factory for manufacturing operations, the Siliguri factory has been leading the way with pioneering initiatives focused on community well-being and health and safety of employees.
