GENES – LECOANET HEMANT CELEBRATES ITS FIRST STANDALONE STORE IN KOLKATA

Ready-to-wear brand, Genes – Lecoanet Hemant, opened doors to its first standalone store in Kolkata. It is the label’s second retail presence, after the first store in New Delhi. Hosted by Lopamudra Mandal, the evening saw guests such as Utsav Parekh, Namit Bajoria, Johanne Mantosh, Ratul Sood, Rita Bhimani, Alexey Idamkin, Nilanjana J Chakraborty, Shreya Pandey, Priyanka Rati Pal, Runa Laha, Kaushik and Rajat, Sonal Srivastava, Nick Rampal, Shabbir and Tanveer among others welcomed by Hemant Sagar and Didier Lecoanet.

Speaking at the occasion, designer Hemant Sagar said, “I’ve spent a lot of time in Kolkata home during my childhood, in addition to exploring the nooks and corners of New Market and the Victoria Memorial gardens. It is a moment of pride to open our second store in the City of Joy.”

Designed as a modern space, imbued with moving imagery and inbuilt technology, the 650 sq. ft. store on Camac Street showcases a fashion-forward, urban lifestyle. Situated on the first level of the beautifully restored 109 year-old Galleria 1910 building, the Genes store will display the brand’s key collections – including iconic printed tees, tapered pants, eclectic jumpsuits, dresses, shirts and gowns. Almost every piece can be easily worn at multiple occasions, and is crafted with precision, embodying today’s Millennial professional, who is opinionated about personal style, and always dressed to make an impression.
