Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota and GIMA winning Percussionist Pt Prodyut Mukherjee came together for an album
Tabla Master Pt Prodyut Mukherjee, who has been awarded with the Global India Music Academy Award ( GIMA ), is all set to collaborate with bhajan samrat Anup Jalota for an album. They have started working on the same. Though it will be dealing with bhajan but soundscape would be contemporary. Anup Jalota said, ” Though lock down is on and we all are fighting against Corona so we planned to utilize our time by doing some creative works. Pt Prodyut Mukherjee has a unique sense in rhythm besides giving a fresh approach in our music.I did several bhajan albums before but it will be dealing a fresh soundscape.”
The new music album will soon reach the audience. Prodyut and Anup Jalota have performed music together before, but this will be his first album with Anup Jalota. In this album, bhajans, ghazals, surs, talas along with the prodigal mouth, cheeks and chest percussion will add on a new sound for sure. Pt Prodyut Mukherjee said, ” It’s an honor working with bhajan samrat in such a unique music album.I am enjoying working on this music album which is yet to be recorded. I even made Odisi exponent Dona Ganguly render taans in one of our earlier albums. Now I am about to add on a new soundscape to bhajan.It can be considered as a fusion bhajan album.”
Both are waiting to the end of the lock down period as they can record it as early as possible.
