A Baloch Humanitarian Worker Enforced Disappeared in Karachi
Abdul Qayum (AKA) Wafa Baloch the General Secretary of the OST Welfare Organisation was forcibly abducted from Karachi’s Shah Faisal Colony in Malir on July 9, 2020.
OST Welfare Organisation is a Balochistan based NGO that offers free support to cancer and other patients who cannot afford treatment.
Its General Secretary Abdul Qayum (AKA) Wafa Baloch helped many patients on humanitarian bases but now he has been disappeared. Wafa’s abduction will not only affect the activities of the OST but also hundreds of needy patients have been deprived of a friend who has always been there for them.
In the past Baloch humanitarian worker, Fasil Mengal’s who was working with Germany’s Hanns Seidel ( HSF) Foundation on the project in Balochistan was gun down in Karachi in December 2011.
International Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (IVBMP) is deeply concern over the continuous abducted of learned Baloch youth by Pakistani state agencies and state-backed criminal groups.
IVBMP appeals to international human rights organisations and the UNHCR to put pressure on the Pakistan government, its judiciary and law enforcement agencies to release the Baloch humanitarian workers and other thousands of enforced disappeared persons.
This is the news as appeared in a social media post on FB.
