Recently Arati Music Foundation is formed in the memory of Late Smt Arati Das, beloved mother of Sitar Maestro Pandit Kushal Das. They have been propagating Indian Classical Music for the last 4 years promoting the best of the younger generation and also showcasing the Legendary maestros.
Now, they have come up with an online Indian Classical Concert series named “SHANTI” to spread peace, harmony, and unity all across the world amidst this global pandemic of Covid-19. There will be 1 episode in each month featuring 1 Young Maestro and 1 Legendary Artist, total duration will be 2 hours. In this present scenario, when the hall concerts are at a pause, it is a great opportunity to join the auditorium from our home. This is the 1st ever experience to witness the best of Indian Classical Music in a new dimension! Streamed in 4 different Timezones, people will enjoy Raaga music inappropriate timings – a never before experience for the global audience with a completely professional presentation.
In the 1st episode on 25th July, we witnessed a scintillating Tabla Solo by Living Legend of tabla Pandit Anindo Chatterjee and before him one of the finest vocalists of the present generation – Shri Omkar Dadarkar’s khayal recital mesmerized all of us.
Pt. Chatterjee played teentaal combining Farukkabad & Lucknow Gharana accompanied by Sarwar Hussain on the sarangi. Omkar started with Raga Gaud Malhar. Then Amritvarsini and ended with Raga Desh. Omkar was accompanied by Pt.Sanjoy Adhikary on the tabla & Shri Gourab Chatterjee on the harmonium.
