Blockbuster Anniversary: 10 Years of Dui Prithibi & Autograph
Indrajit Mitra, Kolkata, October 2020: Jalsha Movies has always taken the onus to showcase new blockbusters for its viewer and provide a superior cinematic experience. Decked with cinematic splendor and superior visual experience, Jalsha Movies brings the best of Bengali entertainment at the home of the viewers.
Adding to its vast repertoire of movies across genres, Jalsha Movies will now showcase Dui Prithibi on 14th October 2020 at 2:00 PM and Autograph at 5:00 PM as a part of the Blockbuster Anniversary to commemorate ten years of release.
Released in 2010, Dui Prithibi brought the two of Bengal’s biggest superstars Jeet and Dev on celluloid for the first and only time. Directed by Raj Chakraborty, the film also had Koel Mallick and Barkha Bisht in lead roles. The film revolves around the life of Dev and Jeet and their search of two different worlds which leads them to a remarkable journey throughout the vast towns in West Bengal. The journey embarks a change in their life drastically, as they are exposed to the hard realities as well as the simplicities of rural life. The people they meet along this emotional journey alter their perceptions of life forever. Be it a teacher who supports orphan kids, a disillusioned ex-militant, a prostitute who craves for love, each and every character aids in their journey of self-discovery.
Autograph, the directorial debut of Srijit Mukherjee, brought back the audience into mainstream Bengali cinema. The film, with all its song-and-dance mainstream elements, has its moments that haunt the viewers to question how success and the craving for it can change a person’s ethical stance to survive in a world of cold-blooded ambition. The film revolves around the life of Arun Chatterjee played by Prosenjit Chatterjee, who is successful (he is the industry as he describes himself) and yet has to struggle in his own way to stay on where he is. The film also casts Indraneil Sengupta and Nandana Sen in lead roles
These two films are sure to brighten up the day of the viewers on Wednesday, 14th October, 2020.
