A post Puja walkthrough of the festival with a difference

A global pandemic like COVID 19 spells doom for the world as we have been experiencing since early 2020 but it also opens up opportunities and in the greatest festival of the country, Durga Puja, witnessed one of a kind initiative with 360• virtual walkthrough of the Pujo pandals showcasing decoration, lighting, themes of the Pujo pandals covered which was brought to the viewers by ENVY DIGITAL.

Post Durga Puja, the fun continues as part of a special initiative ENVY DIGITAL takes the fun of the Durga Puja to special homes catering to more than 200 children in Santoshpur, Lake Gardens, Rajabazar and Kalighat to take the children on a 360 Degree Walk-through journey of 50 Barowari Pujas, 8 Bonedi Barir Pujas, Puja of Sovabazar’s Durbar Mohila Samity and 6 more pujas from UK, USA, Australia in the just concluded Durga Puja festivities. This special edition of Augmented Durga Puja showcasing shall be in association with RajaBazar Roshni Youth Group, Diksha in Kalighat and Lake Gardens Women and Children Development Centre from 3rd to 6th November 2020 keeping alive the spirit of the festival season.

“Rajabazar Roshni Youth Group focuses on developing the potential of women and girls to drive long lasting equitable changes. Our efforts are focused to fight against underlying causes of women torture, building secure and resilient communities and ensuring a life of dignity for all women and girls from the most marginalised and vulnerable Rajabazar community, especially among the slums” says Shahina Javed .

“Kolkata-based DIKSHA has been working towards the uplift of children in red-light areas. The organisation has been working with marginalised children and youth to help protect their rights and resolve issues around gender and sexuality through participation in development programmes”, says Tumpa Adhikari .

“Lake Gardens women and children development centre provide young women/ girls with a means of livelihood through education and training, and thus to bring dignity to their lives. The organization  started with the objective to improve the quality of life of the girl children and women in the shanties along the railway track between Dhakuria and Lake Gardens station under jurisdiction of the municipal corporation of India,”Says Suranjana  Basu Das , Joint Secretary.

Narrating an incident Nilanjan Chakroborty , Marketing Director, ENVY DIGITAL said, “We were shooting for the Augmented Pujo on Panchami and we came across two impoverished, with almost no clothes on their body trying to catch a glimpse of the Puja and being rudely turned away by the security and their only crime was they were poor. After All they were just kids who wanted to enjoy the creativity and fun of the festival. This made us decide right there to bring the Durga Puja to the homes of the underprivileged and unfortunate children. For Maa Durga financial status is not a criterion so why should we humans judge them?”

” As part of society it is our responsibility and this is only a small step to reach out to over 200 such underprivileged children on our first year, we hope to make it bigger next year, also requesting all to share the feelings, the festival with the kids who are special and can’t help on their status of birth.” concluded Nilanjan Chakraborty,Marketing Director ENVY DIGITAL.

Augmented Durga Puja by Envy Digital has already reached more than 22L across the globe via different media and it will continue to spread the concept to enjoy festivals staying home and safe.
