Condolence Message from CAB President, Avishek Dalmiya on Sad Demise of Late Saradindu Pal:
“It is a great loss for the Association and his contribution to the administration of the state cricket body had been immense over the years.
Being one of the longest serving members of CAB, who during the last four decades had served Bengal cricket in various capacities.
He was a Former Hony. Joint Secretary of the Association and during his tenure, the Bengal Team did well in Ranji Trophy.
He had a very pleasing personality and would always be remembered as a good human being.
As a tribute to him, the CAB Flag would be kept half-mast tomorrow. The Office of the Association would also remain closed as a mark of respect.”
“At a personal level, its a huge loss for me as he was a close family friend and was also very close to my father.
My sincere condolences to his family in this hour of grief and prayers to The Almighty for eternal peace of his soul.” message on a personal note from Mr. Avishek Dalmiya.
Pal was known for his friendly nature during his tenure as the joint secretary between 2005-2007.
A lifelong Jagmohan Dalmiya loyalist, Pal was a typical Kolkata Maidan veteran, who ran Kumartuli Club, which played both cricket and football in the top division. He was one of the most friendly faces of Bengal cricket administration for many and will be remembered as Dear Dada for a long.
