39 billion in-school meals missed since the start of the pandemic

new joint report by UNICEF Innocenti and the World Food Programme warns of a looming nutrition crisis as more than 39 billion in-school meals have been missed since the start of the pandemic. School meals are critical in ensuring children’s health, nutrition, and return to school. Both UNICEF and WFP are calling on governments to prioritize reopening schools.
