KOLKATA AIRPORT RECEIVES COVETOUS ACI ASQ AWARD

Kolkata, March 5, 2021

Kolkata Airport has been selected amongst the best airports in the category of ‘Best Hygiene Measures’ by the Airports Council International (ACI) World in Asia-Pacific region.

The COVID-19 pandemic had a dramatic impact on global passenger traffic in 2020 as well as changing customer perceptions and expectations of the airport experience. Recognising these efforts of the Airports, the Airports Council International (ACI) World announced Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards for 2020. The Airport Service Quality awards highlight the world’s best airports as judged by their customers.

The Kolkata Airport is thankful to all our stakeholders and passengers for their support and specially the Housekeeping team who continue to do a commendable job as Corona Warriors in maintaining safety & hygiene at Kolkata Airport during the Pandemic.  Kolkata Airport has been adjudged among the 33 best Airports in the world in this category. This section covered questions on the effectiveness & satisfaction with safety & hygiene measures, level of confidence and level of stress experienced by passengers. Kolkata Airport has scored high on all the three parameters.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the Airport Service Quality survey was conducted at the Airport. To gauge the passenger feedback on the New Normal of air travel, ACI had introduced a new section in the questionnaire on hygiene issues and introduced a new award – ‘Best Hygiene Measures by Region’.

Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Survey is the world-renowned and internationally established global benchmarking programme measuring passengers’ satisfaction across 34 key performance indicators, whilst they travel through an airport, conducted by the Airports Council International (ACI), a global non-profit organization of Airport Operators.
