MAKAUT, WB Organising a Webinar on “Mathematics in Nature” under the initiative of ‘MAKAUT er Bandhan’
Kolkata, 12th March 2021: The School Connect Team of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), WB is organizing a Webinar on “Mathematics in Nature” under the initiative of ‘MAKAUT er Bandhan’. The objective is to help the school students overcome their phobia in mathematics. Many students experience such fear and are unable to score good marks in mathematics.
A few examples of Mathematics inherent in nature are: the number of spirals in a pine cone, pineapple or seeds in a sunflower, or the number of petals on a flower. Another wonder in nature is the hexagon we observe in a bee hive. All are uniform in shape and size. Fractals also make up many aspects of our world, included the leaves of ferns, tree branches and so on.
The only thing required is to discover such rhythm of mathematics in nature from the very childhood. It will help the students to overcome their fear for mathematics and instead nurture a feeling of love for learning the subject.
